Week 18: Ugly

Robert was born 'Ugly' and had one leg shorter than the other, and a big nose. His mum didn't want to keep him, but the rest of his family voted to keep him.

He had lots of operations when he was young. When he was 4 he had an operation to fix his nose and legs.

He couldn't find a sport that he could play, until he found bowls. When Robert turned 14, he had to make a life changing decision.

This true story is very sad, as it shows how mean people can be about your looks.

It teaches you to always look inside a person, it's not what they look like that makes them a kind and good person.
