Week 19: Serafina and the Black Cloak

I was asked to read this book for the Readers Cup at school. It is one of four books we were asked to read.

Serafina is a young girl who lives in a basement in the Biltmore Estate. She lives with her Pa and they are C.R.C (central rat catchers). They catch rats and other small animals. One night she hears and sees a young girl get kidnapped by a person in a black cloak. After that, the person comes after her. Her Pa says never to go out at night into the nearby forest. But will she?

This book has brilliant language and is suitable for children over 10.

There are almost 300 pages but the story is so good you don't realise.
