When August Pullman was born, he was born with a facial problem.
He had 27 operations to try to fix his face. August starts school and on his first day everyone stares at him. He doesn't like it but he gets use to it. He makes friends named Jack and Summer.
Throughout the year he makes loads of friends but some of his friends are mean and talk behind his back.
When Summer Camp is about to happen August doesn't know if he wants to go.
Will August go to Summer Camp and get through Fifth Grade?
